Meet the team
Equipping Georgia’s youth and families to grow in identity, confidence, and community care.
Our Mission
From Spirit To Spirit Ltd. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving children, teens, and young adults across Georgia.
Our mission is to provide practical programs and caring relationships that help young people build a strong sense of identity, develop life skills, and create safer, more connected communities.
What We Do
We design and deliver programs that meet youth and families right where they are:
– Evolved (Ages 7–13) – Early identity and character building, bullying prevention, the Buddy System, and age-appropriate CPR basics.
– Teen Talks (Ages 14–17) – Peer-led identity and leadership sessions, bullying prevention & bystander action, digital safety, and CPR training with optional certification.
– ReSet (Ages 15–27) – Second-chance skills and habit-building for justice-involved youth and young adults.
– PEARLS (Pregnant Women Ages 14–28) – A 12-month pregnancy support path with mentorship, resource navigation, and wellness coaching.
– Unseen Heroes – Recognizing mentors and volunteers who quietly change lives.
Our Impact
– 125+ youth and families reached in the past year
– 40+ active volunteers statewide
– Partnerships with schools, libraries, and community organizations in more than ten Georgia counties
Our Approach
We believe identity shapes destiny.
By combining peer-to-peer support, life-saving CPR training, and practical skills for bullying prevention and leadership, we empower youth to care for themselves and their communities.

April Lawrence
Hi, I’m April Lawrence (BSN, RN), founder of From Spirit To Spirit.
Congratulations on your journey to enhanced mental wellness!
Hi, I’m April Lawrence (BSN, RN), founder of From Spirit To Spirit.
Proudly based in beautiful Georgia, our nonprofit was created with the belief that access to quality care is a basic right of every individual.
As a passion-driven nurse with over two decades of healthcare industry experience, I’ve noticed many systemic problems with how person’s facing mental health issues are treated. One of the issues I grappled with was how to provide suitable mental wellness care while also addressing the detrimental social elements that impact that health in the first place.
One of the solutions I encountered? Acknowledging that those who experience unique mental health life challenges are PEOPLE and valuable members of their communities.
That’s why I’m an active advocate for not only improving mental healthcare-related practices and measures but also providing holistic care while educating clients along the way. It’s also why I founded From Spirit To Spirit, a comprehensive mental health resources organization that facilitates community collaboration, builds the capacity of health systems, and identifies opportunities for growth.
We’re not in the “healthcare” business; we operate in the health and wellness space, advocating for education, prevention, and best practices that benefit your health in ways you never even imagine. We don’t compete with clinics and hospitals; we complement their offerings — and try to keep you well so you can stay out of them as much as possible!
Be well!
April
